Early Childhood
Town and Village (T&V) would like to extend a special welcome to our youngest guests & their parents. We invite you to join us for all of our Early Childhood events, designed for children 0-5 years old & their families. And of course, you are welcome to ALL services and programs here at T&V!
Holiday Programs…
For each of the major holidays, we make a special effort to create programming specifically for preschoolers and their families. These special celebrations help make each holiday meaningful for our kids, and are amongst our most popular events.

- September 29 & 30 Rosh Hashanah – Family and Tot Services 10:30 am-12:30 pm
- October 7 Yom Kippur Kol Nidre – Tot room open with Supervised play 6-8 pm
- October 8 Yom Kippur Day - Family and Tot Services 10:30 am-12:30 pm
- Friday October 21 – Sukkot Tot Dinner 5:30 pm
- Thursday October 20 – Simchat Torah Tot Party 6:15 pm
Early Childhood Classes Sundays 9:30 am to 12:30 pm K’tonton is our preschool class for 3-4 year olds and Gan is our Kindergarten class for 5 year olds. Both K’tonton and Gan meet every Sunday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Through art, music with Cantor Postman, crafts, and stories children learn about Shabbat, Holidays, Israel, and Torah. Children are exposed to Hebrew letters and words through games and songs, and participate in all Hebrew School celebrations. Young children begin their Jewish Education filled with creativity and joy. (Please note that you need to register for these classes).
Weekly “Tot Shabbat” Services Saturday Mornings 10:30-Noon
Every Shabbat morning, we meet in the new Kleiman Classroom for a special service geared toward pre-schoolers. After some supervised free play, Eva or Liav, our great teachers, lead us in songs, prayers, stories, an activity, and of course, a Shabbat snack. It’s a great way to introduce your child to Shabbat at T&V and connect with other families with young children. Even if your child is barely crawling, feel free to sit and soak up the Shabbat spirit! (free of charge).
TOT Shabbat Dinners Friday Evenings 5:30PM-7:00PM
Once a month, families with young children gather in the Bierman Social Hall for a warm, casual, kid-oriented, Shabbat dinner. Each Shabbat Dinner has a special theme relating to the Jewish Year. Rabbi Sebert or Cantor Postman will lead a 20-minute service featuring plenty of singing and dancing. We then say some Shabbat blessings & enjoy a great meal….which inevitably turns into a loud meal when the kids start running around and making their own special brand of Shabbat chaos! Reservations are required to know how much food to order. (fee for dinner).

December 23 – Chanukah, Latkes and Shabbat of Lights
February 3 – Tu B’Shevat Birthday for the TREES Shabbat
March 2 – PrePURIM Shabbat in costumes!
April 27 – Shabbat in ISRAEL
June 1 – Shavuot TORAH Shabbat
